Algonquin Park

For 14 summers I went to Algonquin Park. This video from Canadian Olympic Kayaker Adam Van Koeverden captures the peace and serenity that kept drawing me back.

The simple living recharges the basic components of your life, lets you start again with a clean slate. I once went three days without seeing or talking to anyone until I ran into a couple of Swedish kayakers who hardly spoke English.

I introduced numerous people to the park on these trips, and most went back with me again on additional trips, or later with their own crews.

Again the video reminds me I ought to get back up there for a week next spring.

Fall Fishing Northern Ontario 2011

Had to get back up to those Pike on the Aguasabon River. Everyone up there was scouting for the Moose bow season and we were the only ones with a boat.

Last time I got twenty miles up the river, this time I made it up one hundred and fifty kilometers (93 miles) and found enough lakes to keep me busy for years.

Here's some photos.

Pechu Lake

I found the elusive Pechu Lake, Walleye and more Walleye.

Didn't have time this trip to get a line in the water but got a video to remind me why it's on my summer 2012 list.

Summer Fishing Northern Ontario

Got the 5th wheel up north this summer, camped along the Mississagi River and the Aguasabon River.
Here's a few pictures and videos, enjoy.
